About the College
The College’s educational purpose, academic ambitions, learning philosophy and planned areas of study.
Educational purpose
Education for an age of changing organisations.
London College of Business & AI Technology (LCBAT) is a London college being developed to provide digitally delivered education in business, leadership and artificial intelligence, for learners in the United Kingdom and around the world.
Its purpose is simple to state. Organisations are changing faster than the curricula that prepare people to lead them. LCBAT sets out to narrow that distance: to combine the intellectual discipline of academic study with the practical questions professionals face when strategy, people and technology meet.
Learner development and professional advancement
The College is concerned with the development of the whole professional: the ability to reason from evidence, to exercise judgement under uncertainty and to lead with responsibility. Study is intended to inform learners’ work as directly as their work informs their study, supporting progress across a career rather than a single qualification.
Academic ambitions
What the College is working to achieve.
- 01
To make rigorous business and technology education accessible to working professionals across borders.
- 02
To integrate AI literacy and data judgement into the study of management, rather than treating them as separate specialisms.
- 03
To design digital learning with the care traditionally given to physical teaching spaces.
- 04
To earn the confidence of learners, employers and regulators through quality, transparency and honest communication.
Teaching and learning
A philosophy of rigour and relevance.
The College’s approach is digital-first by design: learning, support and community are conceived for an online setting from the start, not adapted to one.
It is committed to critical enquiry, clear learning outcomes and transparent assessment, and to treating artificial intelligence and data both as subjects of study and as tools to be understood critically. Learners are expected to examine claims, weigh evidence and form reasoned judgements of their own. The College is based in London and international in its outlook and audience.
Planned areas of study
Five connected fields of study.
The College’s academic direction is organised around five fields, each concerned with how knowledge becomes sound professional judgement. They describe areas of focus, not programmes currently open for application.
Business & Management
The principles and practice of managing organisations: strategy, operations, finance, markets and the decisions that connect them.
Leadership & Executive Education
Judgement, ethics and the capacity to lead people and change, for those who hold or are preparing for senior responsibility.
Artificial Intelligence & Data
How intelligent systems and data are built, governed and applied, with attention to their organisational and societal consequences.
Digital Transformation & Emerging Technologies
The strategic, technical and human dimensions of changing how organisations work through technology.
Professional & Lifelong Learning
Flexible learning for working professionals who need to renew and extend their expertise across a career.
Academic quality and responsibility
Standards the College will be held to.
A new institution earns trust by being clear about what it is, and by doing what it says it will do.
- To be open about its status: LCBAT does not claim university status, degree-awarding powers or accreditation.
- To publish programme, assessment and award information, with its source, as it is confirmed.
- To design learning for accessibility and for the realities of working lives.
- To consider the consequences of technology as carefully as its capabilities.
The LCBAT emblem
Four quarters, one purpose.
The College’s shield brings four emblems together in a single design.
- The open book speaks to scholarship and the pursuit of understanding.
- The classical arch speaks to institutional foundations and structure.
- The connected network speaks to technology, data and intelligent systems.
- The laurel wreath speaks to achievement and recognition earned through effort.
Planned academic development
Towards the 2027/28 intake.
LCBAT plans to welcome its first learners in the 2027/28 academic year.
Programme titles, entry requirements, study format and award arrangements will be published through official channels as they are confirmed. Applications are not currently being accepted.
